Which gyms in Utah County are open on Sunday?

Why this is even a question here
In most of the country, Sunday gym hours are unremarkable. In Utah County they are genuinely hard to find. A large share of local gyms close Sunday entirely, and several of the chains that stay open run shortened hours that end early in the afternoon.
That's a cultural norm and there's nothing wrong with it. But if you work six days, or you travel during the week, or Sunday is simply the one morning nobody needs anything from you, it's a real problem.
What "open Sunday" actually means
This is where people get caught out, so it's worth separating three different things:
| Type of access | What you get |
|---|---|
| Staffed hours | Front desk is open. Usually the shortest window, often not on Sunday at all. |
| Door-code or badge access | You can get in and train any time. No staff, no classes — just you and the floor. |
| Coached classes | A coach running a session. Almost nowhere in Utah County runs these on Sunday. |
A gym advertising "open Sunday" might mean any of the three. Before you drive anywhere, check what kind of access you actually have.
Sunday at Boom
Boom members have 24/7 door-code access at both Lehi (1657 N State St) and Pleasant Grove (564 W 700 S #304). That includes Sunday, holidays, 5am, 11pm — whenever you need it. Your code works.
What does not happen on Sunday is a coached class. Sunday is open-floor training. If the coaching is the reason you joined, plan your week around the class schedule and treat Sunday as your own session.
We'd rather tell you that clearly than have you show up expecting a coach.
How to make a Sunday session actually count
Open-floor days are where most people wander. A simple structure fixes it:
- Pick one main lift and work it properly — squat, deadlift, press or pull. Warm up in steps, then do your working sets.
- Add two accessory movements that complement it. Three or four sets each.
- Finish with 10–15 minutes of steady aerobic work. Conversational pace. This is the zone 2 work that builds the aerobic base most people skip, and Sunday is the perfect day for it.
- Leave something in the tank. Sunday shouldn't wreck Monday.
If you're a Boom member and you want a plan for your open-floor days, ask a coach during the week. That's what they're there for, and it takes two minutes.
Other options in the area
Several big-box chains in Orem and Provo run Sunday hours, and the city recreation centers vary by municipality — some are closed Sunday as a matter of policy. Because hours change seasonally and around holidays, we're not going to publish a table that goes stale. Call ahead or check the gym's own Google listing, which is usually the most current source.
The short version
If Sunday training matters to you, what you need is a gym with 24/7 member access rather than one with generous staffed hours. Those are different things, and only the first one is reliable.
