Where do you work out if you work in Silicon Slopes?

Where do you work out if you work in Silicon Slopes? — Boom Fitness Culture, coached strength and conditioning in Lehi and Pleasant Grove, Utah
If you work along the Lehi tech corridor, the gym question is really a scheduling question. The options that work are the ones that survive a moved meeting: a coached class you can hit before work, a 45-minute session you can do at lunch, or a gym with a door code for the nights you leave at 7:30. Boom Fitness Culture sits at 1657 N State Street in north Lehi with coached classes Monday–Friday 6–10am and 5–6:30pm, Saturday 8:30am, and 24/7 door-code access for members — that combination is the point, and it is our gym, so weigh this accordingly. F45 Traverse Mountain runs 45-minute functional group classes up by the outlets. VASA Lehi is the big-box option. Below is the honest version of how each one fits an actual workday.

Why this is a different question than “what’s the best gym in Lehi”

Lehi went from 47,407 people in 2010 to 75,907 at the 2020 census — a 60.1% jump — and was estimated around 90,229 by 2023. That growth is the tech corridor. Adobe has a Lehi building housing roughly 900 employees. Microsoft built a second building for its engineering staff here. Ancestry moved its headquarters to Lehi in 2016. Oracle, Vivint and DigiCert are all in the area, and the old IM Flash fab — which at one point produced one of every fourteen flash memory chips in the world — is now Texas Instruments.

So there are a lot of people here whose training problem is not motivation. It is that their calendar owns them. We compared the Lehi gyms on the usual criteria elsewhere. This piece is about which ones survive a Tuesday where the 2pm slips to 3pm.

The four slots a tech job actually leaves you

1. Before work (6–8am)

The most protected hour you have, because nobody schedules over it. It is also the one that dies first if the gym is not on your commute. Our Lehi gym runs trainer-led classes from 6am, which means you can be showered and at a desk by 8. Private showers on site, which matters more than it sounds if you are going straight in.

2. Lunch (the 45-minute problem)

A lunch workout only works if the total round trip fits in an hour — drive, train, shower, drive. That rules out anything more than a few minutes away and rules out any format that runs long. This is genuinely what the 45-minute class format was designed for, and F45 Traverse Mountain is well placed for it if you work up near the outlets. Our sessions run 45–60 minutes, which fits a lunch if you are close and does not if you are not. I would rather tell you that than sell you a membership you use twice.

3. Right after work (5–6:30pm)

The most popular slot and the most fragile. One late meeting and it is gone. Our evening block runs 5–6:30pm Monday through Friday. If your job regularly eats this hour, do not build your plan on it — build on mornings and treat evenings as a bonus.

4. After everything (8pm and later)

This is where door-code access earns its keep. Members here have 24/7 access to both gyms, so the night your deploy ran long is not automatically a missed session. There is no coach at 9:45pm, but the workout is posted in the member app each morning, so you are not standing in the middle of the floor deciding what to do.

What sitting all day actually does to your training

Two honest observations from coaching people who code for a living. The first is that desk work tends to make the front of your hips tight and the muscles that hold your upper back together weak, which shows up as a bench press that outpaces everything behind it. A programmed weekly split fixes that by not letting you skip pulling days — ours puts back and arms on Friday whether you feel like it or not.

The second is that the people who last are the ones training two or three times a week, not five. Five is what you plan in January. Two to three is what survives a product launch. If you want the research behind that, we wrote it up here.

The question worth asking before you sign anything

Not “which gym is best.” It is “which gym will I still be going to in March.” For most people working in this corridor the answer is whichever one is closest to the road they already drive, with a time slot their calendar cannot eat. Everything else is detail.

If you want to test that without spending money: our first week is free — every coached class for seven days, no card, no sales meeting. Come at 6am twice and see whether the morning slot is real for you. That is a better experiment than any comparison page, including this one.

Frequently asked

Is there a gym near Silicon Slopes in Lehi?

Yes — several. Boom Fitness Culture is at 1657 N State St in north Lehi with coached classes twice a day and 24/7 member access. F45 Traverse Mountain is up near the outlets, and VASA Lehi and the Lehi Legacy Center are the big-box and value options.

Can I work out on my lunch break in Lehi?

Only if the round trip fits the hour. A 45-minute class format is what makes this realistic, and proximity to your office matters more than anything else. If the gym is more than a few minutes away, build your plan around mornings instead.

What gym in Lehi is open late for tech workers?

Boom Fitness Culture members have 24/7 door-code access at both gyms, so late sessions are possible even though no coach is on the floor after hours. The day's workout is posted in the member app each morning.

How many days a week should I train if I work a desk job?

Two to three coached sessions a week is what survives a busy work schedule. Five is what people plan and then abandon. The programmed split matters more than the frequency because it stops you skipping the pulling work desk posture needs.

How much is a gym membership near Silicon Slopes?

Boom Fitness Culture publishes its pricing: $119.99 a month for Unlimited, month to month, no contract, covering both the Lehi and Pleasant Grove gyms. Big-box options in the area start lower; coached options generally start higher.
