Can I bring my baby to the gym? Kidcare ages, hours and how it actually works

The actual answer, first
Six weeks old is the youngest. No upper limit on older kids. Included with Unlimited, no per-visit fee, no punch card, no separate booking system to fight with.
I am putting that at the top because I know what it is like to search this question at 11pm with a newborn asleep on you, and find four gyms whose websites say “contact us for details.”
The hours are the real constraint
The age almost never stops anyone. The hours sometimes do, so here they are plainly.
| Gym | Kidcare hours | Which classes that covers |
|---|---|---|
| Lehi 1657 N State St. | Monday–Friday, 8–10am | The 8am and 9am coached classes |
| Pleasant Grove 564 W 700 S Ste. 304 | Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 9–10am | The 9am coached class |
Hours are subject to change — we have changed them before and we will again as the gyms grow. The front desk always has the current ones, and if you are driving across the valley specifically for a class, a quick call beats an assumption.
The honest limits
I would rather you hear these from me than discover them on a Saturday with a car seat in your hand.
- No Saturday kidcare. Not yet.
- Nothing in the evening block. The 5–6:30pm classes are not covered.
- The two gyms are on different schedules. Lehi has more days than Pleasant Grove right now. Check the one you are actually driving to.
- It is built around a class, not a long visit. The window covers your session, not a session plus a shower plus a coffee.
If evening or Saturday demand is there we genuinely want to hear about it. That feedback is how the schedule has changed in the past.
What the handoff is actually like
You sign your kids in at the desk and a Boom team member watches them in the gym while you are in class. There is no separate building and no app to wrestle with. You are twenty feet away, not across a complex — which matters more than people expect for a first-timer, and for a parent who is not quite ready to be out of earshot.
Most kids are unsettled for about ten minutes the first time, and most parents are unsettled for slightly longer. Bring a water bottle, a snack and whatever quiet thing they like. Our team is used to the first-day version of this; it is not a novelty for them. Between them, Tyson and I have coached hundreds of postpartum members.
If you have just had a baby
Two different questions get tangled here: when can the baby come, and when can you train. The first is six weeks. The second is between you and your provider, and the honest answer is that it depends on your delivery and your recovery. Most of the moms we see are cleared somewhere around six to eight weeks after delivery, which is why the kidcare minimum sits where it does.
I am a coach and not a doctor. Get your provider’s clearance first, and if what they tell you conflicts with anything here, they win. We wrote a fuller piece on returning to training after a baby — what published guidance actually says about the timelines, the warning signs worth taking seriously, and why running is a separate decision from lifting.
Why a gym with childcare matters more than it sounds
Because the usual reason parents stop training is not motivation. It is that the logistics failed. A plan that depends on a babysitter runs exactly as long as the babysitter does. A predictable, included window on a fixed set of mornings is the difference between three sessions a week and three sessions a month.
That is the whole argument, and it is why we do not charge extra for it. Charging per visit for the thing that determines whether you show up at all has always seemed backwards to me.
What it costs
Nothing on top. Kidcare is included with Unlimited at $119.99 a month, month to month, no contract, which also covers every coached class at both gyms, 24/7 door-code access and nutrition support. Couples Unlimited is $165.99 and Family Unlimited is $219.99 — the family plan is the one most parents with more than one kid end up on.
Try it before you commit to anything
Your first week is free — every coached class for seven days, no card required. Tell the desk you will have a baby with you and we will be expecting you. Do the handoff twice before you decide anything; the first time tells you very little and the second tells you almost everything.
Questions about your situation specifically: (801) 362-6315. We would rather answer a question than have you not come.
Frequently asked
How old does a baby have to be for gym childcare at Boom?
Six weeks old is the minimum, and there is no upper age limit for older kids.
What are Boom’s kidcare hours?
Lehi runs Monday through Friday, 8–10am. Pleasant Grove runs Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9–10am. Hours are subject to change — check with the front desk.
Does kidcare cost extra at Boom?
No. It is included with an Unlimited membership at $119.99 a month. There is no per-visit fee and no punch card.
Is there Saturday or evening childcare?
Not yet. Kidcare is weekday mornings only at both gyms, and the evening class block is not covered.
When can I start training again after having a baby?
That is between you and your provider and depends on your delivery and recovery. Many are cleared around six to eight weeks, which is why the kidcare minimum is six weeks — but get clearance first.
Can I try kidcare before joining?
Yes. The first week is free, every coached class, no card required. Tell the desk you will have a baby with you.
