What are the best gyms in Highland and Alpine, Utah?

By Tyson Evans · Boom Fitness Culture · Updated 2026-09-25
What are the best gyms in Highland and Alpine, Utah? — Boom Fitness Culture, coached strength and conditioning in Lehi and Pleasant Grove, Utah
Highland and Alpine are well served for their size, and the right answer depends on what you actually want. For 24-hour access at a low monthly price, Anytime Fitness Highland (11117 N Alpine Hwy) advertises plans starting at $17.99 biweekly. For recovery facilities — cold plunge, sauna, steam room, red light — Alpine Fitness at 235 S Main St in Alpine is the standout and opens at 4:30am. For one-on-one and small-group personal training, Alloy Personal Training sits at 10953 Alpine Hwy in Highland. For short heated sessions, HOTWORX is next door at 10945 Alpine Hwy. For coached strength classes on a programmed weekly split with published pricing, that is what we do at Boom Fitness Culture, about ten minutes south in Lehi — our gym, so judge accordingly.

How we compared them

Five things you can check yourself on each gym’s own website: is the training coached or is it a floor, is the price published, what are the hours, what recovery or extras are included, and what is the trial. We name real businesses and say what each is best at. Boom is ours and we have said so.

Which gym in Highland is cheapest?

On advertised base price, Anytime Fitness Highland — plans starting at $17.99 biweekly, which is roughly $39 a month. That is a floor plus 24-hour access, and their site does list coaching, group training and free classes as part of what they offer. If your bottleneck is money and you already know what to do in a gym, that is hard to beat in this area.

Two of the five do not publish pricing at all. That is common for personal training and recovery-led gyms, and it is not a scandal — but it does mean a phone call before you can compare. We publish every price on our site because we think you should be able to work out what a gym costs without booking a tour.

Which is best for recovery?

Alpine Fitness, clearly, and it is not close. Cold plunge, sauna, steam room, red light therapy and massage therapy on site, plus a stated partnership with Alpine Physical Therapy for post-rehab work. If you are coming back from an injury or you value the recovery side as much as the training, start there. They also open at 4:30am six days a week, which is the earliest door in this comparison.

Which is best if you have never lifted before?

Honestly, either Alloy or us, for the same reason: somebody is watching you. Alloy is the more intensive version — personal and small-group training with a coach on you for the session. We are the group-class version: a coach programs the week, sets your loads and corrects your form, in a room with other people doing the same session at different weights. Alloy will cost more per hour; we cost $119.99 a month for as many classes as you want. Which is right depends on whether you want attention or community, and how much you want to spend.

What I would not recommend for a true beginner is a cheap open floor with nobody watching. It is the best value on paper and the worst value in practice, because most people do three weeks of guessing and then stop.

Is there a 24-hour gym in Highland or Alpine?

Yes. Anytime Fitness Highland is open to members 24/7, and HOTWORX advertises 24-hour member access, though first-time guests need orientation during staffed hours and the format is sauna-based rather than a weight floor. Alpine Fitness is not 24 hours but opens at 4:30am and runs until midnight Monday through Thursday, which covers most of what people actually need. Boom members get 24/7 door-code access at both our gyms.

What about childcare?

This is worth calling about specifically because it changes by location and by season. We include kidcare with Unlimited: Lehi runs Monday through Friday 8–10am and Pleasant Grove runs Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9–10am. Those hours are subject to change and the front desk has the current ones. There is no Saturday or evening kidcare yet. If childcare is the deciding factor for you, we wrote up exactly how it works and its honest limits.

How far is Lehi from Highland and Alpine?

Close. Highland borders Lehi and American Fork, and Alpine sits just north of Highland. Our Lehi gym is at 1657 N State St. on State Street. If you already drive toward Lehi or I-15 for work, we are on the way; if you never leave the Alpine Highway corridor, the Highland options are more convenient and that convenience will matter more than any feature on this page.

How to actually decide

Go to two of them in one week. Almost everything here has a way in: HOTWORX gives first-time local guests a complimentary session during staffed hours, Alloy starts you with a starting-point session, and our first week is free — every coached class for seven days, no card required. Two real visits will tell you more than any amount of reading.
