**Short answer:** Orem's three main options are very different animals. EoS Fitness on University Parkway is 24/7 with a pool, sauna and kids' club. Planet Fitness on State Street is the cheapest serious option at $15 to $25 a month. The Orem Family Fitness Center is a city rec facility with two pools, racquetball and a bouldering wall, priced by residency. None of them is a coached gym, which is the one thing Orem is genuinely short on.

Orem is well served for equipment and badly served for coaching. That is the short version. Here is the longer one, including who should pick what.

## EoS Fitness - 52 E University Parkway

**Best for:** people who want a full club and odd hours.

Open 24/7, with a swimming pool and hot tub, saunas, free weights up to 150 lb, group classes, a dedicated recovery space, and a kids' club for ages 2 to 12. For a household that wants the gym to also be the place you swim and park the kids for an hour, this is the most complete building in Orem.

**The trade:** it is a big club, so peak hours are peak hours, and group classes are not the same as someone coaching your squat.

## Planet Fitness - 157 N State Street

**Best for:** the tightest budget, and people who just want a treadmill and a machine circuit.

$15 a month for the home-club membership, $24.99 for the Black Card with access to any location, plus an annual fee. Open around the clock most of the week. Machines, cardio, hydromassage, and a deliberately low-pressure atmosphere that genuinely does help people who feel out of place in gyms.

**The trade:** the equipment is built for machine work rather than serious barbell training, and the culture is designed around not intimidating anyone - which is a feature if that is your worry and a limit if you want to get strong.

## Orem Family Fitness Center - city recreation

**Best for:** families, and anyone who wants more than a gym.

Two pools including a 50-meter lap pool, four racquetball courts, a bouldering wall, drop-in basketball, volleyball and pickleball, group classes, and childcare from three months old. Residents pay roughly $17 to $45 a month depending on the membership type, non-residents somewhat more, and there is a day rate around $6 if you want to try it without joining.

**The trade:** it is a recreation center, not a training facility. Fantastic value if your family will use the pools and courts. Less compelling if you are there strictly to lift.

## What Orem does not really have

A coached gym - somewhere a person writes the session, watches you do it, and changes the load when your form starts to go. Orem has excellent facilities and very little coaching. That is a real gap, and whether it matters depends entirely on one question: do you know what to do when you walk in?

If yes, any of the three above will serve you well and you should pick on price and amenities. If no, equipment access is not your problem and a cheaper membership will not fix it.

## Quick comparison

| If you want... | Go with |
|---|---|
| A full club, pool and sauna, open all night | EoS Fitness |
| The lowest monthly price | Planet Fitness |
| Pools, courts and family use | Orem Family Fitness Center |
| A coach running every session | A coached gym - nearest is Pleasant Grove |

## Where Boom fits, honestly

We are not in Orem. Our nearer gym is [Pleasant Grove, at 564 W 700 S Ste 304](/pleasant-grove), which is a short drive north for most of Orem. We run coached functional circuit training and functional bodybuilding on a weekly split, every class led by a coach, every movement scaled to the person doing it.

If you already train confidently on your own, one of the three Orem options is probably the better call and we would rather say so. If the reason you have started and stopped three times is that nobody was there to tell you what to do, that is the specific problem we exist to solve. Come use the [free week](/free-week) and see - every class, either gym, no card.

We wrote up [Lehi](/learn/best-gyms-in-lehi-utah), [American Fork](/learn/best-gyms-in-american-fork-utah) and [Saratoga Springs](/learn/best-gyms-in-saratoga-springs-utah) the same way.
